Spontaneous remission of haematologic malignancy is extremely rare. Spontaneous remission of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) has been associated with viral infection, immunization and new primary carcinoma. We report two cases of spontaneous regression of CLL, observed after 20 and 9 years from diagnosis. Spontaneous regression of CLL was documented by clinical and haematological data and was not associated with viral infection or secondary malignancy. MRC CLL V Trial Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia The Value Of Autografting In Younger Patients With High Risk Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) A Randomised Phase III Intergroup Trial Study Design Prospective randomised Phase III controlled trial, aims to recruit 125 patients in the UK. The trial is a randomised trial of high dose chemo-radiotherapy plus autologous stem cell rescue versus no further treatment. Patients will be entered into the trial only after they have received chemotherapy, which has resulted in the achievement of a ‘complete response’, ‘good partial response’ or ‘nodular partial response’ to standard induction chemotherapy.
