  leukaemia  High Voltage Lines Linked to Leukaemia   Around 100,000 homes in the UK could have potentially dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation - such as emitted from pylons - according to latest research. The National Radiation Protection Board said one case of childhood leukaemia every two years might be associated with living near power lines. But the National Radiological Protection Board, the Government's radiation watchdog, also said 80 per cent of homes with strong electromagnetic fields are not close to pylons. They had been working to establish whether there is a link between cancer and high-voltage overhead power lines. Their findings acknowledge an increased danger of life-threatening disease which could be blamed on living near power lines - but said they could not be sure. They estimate 100,000 homes had levels of electromagnetic fields which might contribute to two cases of childhood leukaemia each ...
