Brochure More information from http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/328860/ Lymphoma Drug Pipeline Update 2006 Description: Lymphoma is a broad term encompassing a variety of cancers of the lymphatic system. NHL can be divided into two forms: aggressive and low-grade. The world prevalence is around 550,000 cases, of which 250,000 are low grade and 300,000 are aggressive. The prevalence is currently increasing, mainly because of population ageing and an increase in HIV-related lymphomas. More than 100 companies are active in the process of developing and improving lymphoma therapies. Many of the biotechnology approaches, such as antibodies, tumor specific treatments, stem cell transplantations etc, seem to suit this diffuse form of cancer well. There are today no less than 117 emerging therapeutics targeting lymphoma , from early preclinical to marketed drugs. Lymphoma Drug Pipeline ...

PDF   From [www.thejns-net.org]  Last viewed: 07.09.2006
RIMARY epidural lymphomas comprise only 7% of all intracranial lymphomas and must be distin- guished from meningeal infiltration by the presence of a systemic lymphoproliferative disorder. Found pre- dominately in elderly men, primary epidural lymphomas are often classified as low- or intermediate-grade lesions, and they are largely composed of centrocytic and centro- blastic cells. Diagnosis is based on the absence of other primary or systemic lymphomas, and differential diag- noses include meningioma and meningeal infiltration by other primary or metastatic tumors. We report a case of primary epidural lymphoma in a 70- year-old man. The immunohistochemical and molecular features of the tumor indicated centrofollicular differenti- ation. Case Report Presentation. This 70-year-old man reported increasing difficulty walking. Symptoms had begun 1 month earlier with paresthesias ...
